Upcoming Test Dates and Deadlines

There are two important dates to note. First is the Application Deadline. You must apply before the deadline to be accepted for an exam date. There are no exceptions.

Once you’ve successfully applied, you will be given an exam date at a location near you during the date range indicated.

New application and examination dates will be released here periodically. Check back regularly.

Test Centers

The ARC Registration Examination in Aromatherapy is administered two times a year during established three-week testing periods Monday through Saturday, excluding holidays, at computer-based testing facilities managed by Prometric. Prometric has several hundred testing sites in the United States and Canada, as well as sites in other countries around the globe.

Please note: Hours and days of availability vary at different centers and scheduling is done on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will not be able to schedule your examination appointment until you have completed the online Application for ARC Registration Examination in Aromatherapy, been approved, and received a Scheduling Authorization from PTC. Please see the Candidate Handbook for more information.

To find a testing center near you:

• Visit the following link: www.prometric.com/ARC
• Under “Test Center Exam” or “Actions” click on Locate.
• On the next page in the drop down menu under “Select a Program” choose Aromatherapy Registration Council, then under “Select a Test” choose Registration Examination in Aromatherapy, then click on the right arrow.
• Enter the desired location where you would like to take your exam in the address field. You may need to broaden your search to city, state, or even country, depending on where you live.
• Enter the desired start and end dates that are within two weeks of each other that coincide with the next ARC exam (see dates above), then click on the right arrow to find available locations, dates, and times in which the ARC exam is offered.

It is highly recommended that each candidate becomes familiar with the testing site where their exam will be administered.
