The Aromatherapy Registration Council® (ARC) is very happy to share some great news with you. Part of that news is we are offering a one-time limited opportunity for former RAs that would like to be able to be a Registered Aromatherapist again without having to retake the ARC exam!

The ARC Board has been very busy over the last year with some exciting new things. If you have not read about them already, please see our blog post for more details. https://aromatherapycouncil.org/2024-news-from-the-arc-chair/

We want you to engage with us again. While we have been in the process of moving the exam and registration applications over to our website, ARC has been made aware of some challenges you may have faced that were beyond our control. As a former Registered Aromatherapist, you will have a limited opportunity to renew your credential without having to retake the exam.

  • The criteria are the same.
  • You will need to provide 100 CEs for the last five years your RA was current.
  • In addition, you will need to provide 20 CEs for each year since your registration lapsed.
  • If your application is approved, pay the $325.00 renewal fee.

For example: If you were to renew in October 2023, you would need to have obtained 100 CEs through October 2023, plus 5 additional for every three months thereafter. Therefore, if you submit online by May 1, 2025, you would need to submit 130 CEs.

This opportunity is only available for a limited time and your application and supporting documents must be received by July 1, 2025.

Former RAs that would like to take advantage of this opportunity:

  • Go to https://aromatherapycouncil.org/
  • Click on LOGIN in the menu.
  • Then click on the “No Account Register Here” button and register to create an online ARC account.
  • Once you have created your new account, it is important that you stop there and email us at gro.licnuocyparehtamoraobfsctd-7c14f5@ofni with the subject line: Former RA. Please include your full name and the full name that was listed on your RA Certificate if it was different from your current one due to a legal name change.

We will then email you back confirming exactly how many CEs you need for reregistration through continuing education, the dates during which they could have been earned, and that we have updated your account for you to have access to upload CEs and apply for reregistration. Please allow up to 10 business days for this process.

You can find the CE guidelines and more information on reregistering your credential at: https://aromatherapycouncil.org/registered-aromatherapist/continuing-education-requirements/.

As we move forward, we will be focused on outreach to facilities and businesses that employ aromatherapists, as well as consumers, to advise them of ARC as a resource for locating a qualified practitioner. We aim to provide more information, resources, and a better experience for registration and reregistration.

Additionally, we want to make sure that all former RAs are aware of this information and the limited-time opportunity to reregister. Due to current difficulties getting the word out via social media, and spotty delivery and reception of emails, we will continue to try and reach out to any former RAs that we have not heard from. However, we also wish to respect anyone’s choice and rights to no longer receive any further communications from ARC. For those reasons:

  • If you do not wish to take advantage of the offer, send us a quick PM or email confirming you did receive notice but are not interested.
  • If you also wish to be removed from our lists for any further communications, please let us know when you reply.

Please email us at gro.licnuocyparehtamoraobfsctd-5dc9ae@ofni if you have any questions.
